‘F’ Doesn’t Stand for Fast

It was a full day of busy work, and I didn’t feel like cooking a big dinner.  I always keep some My Veggie Chef dinners in the freezer. This isn’t an ad, I just really love these dinners! :)

Track Tuesday:

4 mile warm-up and drills (high knees, butt kicks, hop-scotch, and here we are doing strides…)

Workout: The entire workout should be run at ‘F’ (fast) pace.

4 x 200m (200 jog)  Goal: 0:46 (Actual: 0:45, 0:46, 0:46, 0:45)
2 x 400m (400 jog)  Goal: 1:31 (Actual: 1:32, 1:31)
1 x 800m (400 jog)  Goal: 3:03 (Actual: 3:03<—-I really had to dig deep for this one!)
2 x 200m (200 jog)  Goal: 0:46 (Actual: 0:47, 0:43)

1 mile cool down

It was so hot that I was craving an acai bowl for lunch.  My cup overfloweth…

I went for a much needed sports massage from Robin Frazier at Franklin Massage Center.  Nashville peeps, you really should go see her!!

And, I can’t resist a taco post on Taco Tuesday…

To end the day, my Rock ‘n’ Blog box arrived.  I won’t share the contents yet.  I don’t want to spoil the surprise for the other bloggers, but it ROCKS!

    I did 800m repeats on Monday. They went better than I thought, especially since I was tired and not in the mood for them when I started!

    It’s been dark at 5am for awhile, so still not light when I start morning runs. It’s always light outside when I do my runs in the evening! 😉

    it’s still dark here in Chattanooga until 6:15AM. speed drills for me were ladders again but on Monday. Happy Wednesday!!!!

    I do my speed workouts on Wednesdays- today was 400 repeats. Great track workout!!
    I haven’t noticed it beginning to stay dark for my early morning runs. I will have to pay attention.

    Hi – what time in the morning are your track sessions? Great job!!

    So rambling thought but other east coasters might relate.. I run in the morning and it is not too hot at all (I don’t mind the heat in general as long as the sun is not beating down). I take an afternoon walk though and the past few days have been steamy. When I am super hot, I think of you southerners powering through your runs and it seriously helps me! I think, if they can run in that heat, I can do an afternoon walk. Yes, I’m a dork. In any case thanks for the inspiration and motivation even if “y’all” don’t know you are motivating me :)

    I am with Amanda M–I don’t know how “Y’all” do it in this Heat and humidity…I am on the coast of NH, and it is WAY darker here in the am…I keep telling myself that I can get thru a couple of days of crazy h&H and that there are some who deal with it all summer!

    It felt so dark for my 7 miler this a.m. that I am contemplating breaking out my wrist lights already. Saddest thing ever! I’m trying to focus on speed work differently this cycle. Lots of hills and crazy body weight training to tone my tush weekly 😉

    -I noticed that I can’t get started til around 5:45 here, because the sun isn’t up yet!
    -I am doing hills (as long as my knee stops complaining)
    -We did nature box for about 6 months, great snacks. But nothing with full on meals.
    I got an early start on taco tuesday but having a taco lunch monday :) YUM!

    It isn’t dark during my morning runs yet, but I’m sure it’s coming! I did a speed workout yesterday 1000m warm-up, 500m (2x), 200m (1x), 400m (2x), 200m sprint (5x). It was tiring but a great run!

    We have definitely lost a lot of daylight, Jen; it’s kind of sad, but also reminds me that maybe, one of these days, it’ll finally cool off – ha! I had a tempo run on Tuesday (that I cut one mile short due to moving/lack of sleep); I’m going to try the Blue Apron meal delivery service next week. My first shipment is scheduled to ship out on August 7!
