My 5 Favorite Photo Apps and a GIVEAWAY!!!

Here’s the post about my Favorite Photo Apps that I talked about during this week’s YouTube vlog!

(Working left to right.  Also, I use an iPhone 6.)

1.  I take all of my action shots, as well as my group shots, with the SuperBurst App.

I will prop my phone up on the ground or up against something and start the timer (I have best results when I shoot in landscape).  My timer is set to 10 seconds.  I run past my phone and SuperBurst takes 300 rapid fire photos.

Next you have the option to save single image frames or save the entire burst as a video.  It even lets you choose your video speed which is great for watching your form.

2.  PicPlayPost:  I use this app to when I want to post short videos and add music to the post.

You can use multiple frames for multiple videos or just a single frame.

Select the music from their database or your iTunes.  It’s really simple to edit the music to fit your video all from your phone.  Then just save and upload to Instagram.

3.  Typic.  I typically use Typic to add doodles and designs to photos.  It’s great for adding an arrow to point or circling to draw attention.

It’s also great for adding regular text and it formats your photos to fit the Instagram dimensions.

4.  FitSnap App:

To start, you select a picture, choose your sport, distance, and duration.  The app calculates your pace and then gives you a bunch of presentation options.

5.  Phonto:

Phonto is my favorite app for adding text over an image.  It has a bunch of font options.

And, you can edit the color, shadowing, add a shaded box for the text, etc…

It also gives you the option of starting with a solid color background.  I often use this option to create funny Instagram posts….usually about coffee or tacos.

Lastly, I’m giving away this super duper awesome “Always Be Joyful” tank on my Instagram TODAY!!! Chelsy at FitAndFaithful made these and she rocks!  Click HERE to enter!!

1. Just follow @JenChoosesJoy and @FitAndFaithful on Instagram.

Helpful post. I might try some of these out. I am hopelessly technology impaired, but my kids could probably help me!

    • JenChoosesJoy

I regularly have to ask my husband for help. I definitely struggle with new technology!

  • Tiffany @ The Chi-Athlete

Um, I love you so much right now. Thank you!

This is great! Thanks for posting, I will definitely try these apps for my IG posts. I had a little salad for dinner last night. Did not have much of an appetite after my speed work. Have a great day!!

    • JenChoosesJoy

I lose my appetite after tough workouts too!

  • Gretchen Braun

This is the best! Definitely just downloaded all of these :) Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing! I keep trying to figure out how to take pics of myself running for my blog :)

    • JenChoosesJoy

      Good!! Hope these help!????

  • Angie @ Pace with Grace Blog

Thanks so much for the great info! I am going to have to check these out. Would love to start to take some action shots :-)
I really like PicLab which sounds similar to Typic
I also use my iPhone for taking photos. I have the best results with it.
Had a turkey sandwich for dinner last night at work. Because some nights I eat with patients at work, the meals are planned by the dietitians so they are usually pretty good but I would say Chipotle sounds better than what I had 😉

    • JenChoosesJoy

I’m going to check out PicLab!!!

  • Jen Rawson @ Pretty Little Gru

This is a great list. I hadn’t heard of some of these. I have been using video and then screen shot for my running photos but sometimes they’re blurry. That super burst app would be perfect!

    • JenChoosesJoy

The only time they turn out blurry in Superburst is when the lighting is really dark.

I’ve go no favorite photo apps!! So I’m excited to try some of these. Thanks!

    • JenChoosesJoy

      Hope they help!!!

  • AmandaM

I love looking at all of you instagrammers but I don’t usually post pictures. Too time consuming! I’m more of an audience member enjoying everyone else’s action. (audience member sounds much better than “lurker” :) ).
I had pb&j, a smoothie (cucumber, carob powder, spirulina, chia seeds, splash of coconut milk), and a grilled plaintain! yummy.

    • JenChoosesJoy

That sounds like the perfect dinner!!!

  • Jamie Whittendale

    Loving that tank… fingers crossed for a W :)

    • JenChoosesJoy

      Good luck!!! It’s really cute!

  • Emily Walters

What a great post! Thanks for these photo app recommendations! While I have an iPhone, I know that I don’t use it to its fullest capacities. I’ll be checking out the apps you recommended! For dinner last night…what did I have? Oh yes, a mishmash of leftovers. But I wish I’d had Chipotle! My favorite! :)

    • JenChoosesJoy

Thanks!!! I never get tired of Chipotle! I love the sofritas!

  • Running ‘N’ Reading

I love your shirt, Jen!! Perfect! I have an iPhone 5S and I love using Word Swag and Letter Glow; I’m going to have to check some of these out, though; thanks for sharing some new ones with me! Um, last night we had red potatoes, grilled zucchini and chicken sausage; we should have put it all in a taco shell, huh? 😉

    • JenChoosesJoy

      Thanks for the app recommendations!

  • corrie
