Race Bound!

This post might be a bit of a hot mess!  I’m writing it with sketchy internet service from a cabin in the woods…

Insert coffee to begin

I met up with my friends for a hilly run in Percy Warner Park.

I LOVED seeing pictures of everyone’s puppies for National Dog Day!!

I met up with the Brentwood Breakfast Club for a fun run!

And came home to a little Post-It Cheerleading…

I got a pre-race tune-up from Robin Frazier at Franklin Massage Center.  Her deep tissue sports massages hurt in the best way possible.  Her “I Survived” shirts are very appropriate and hilarious!

I wanted to carb up for this weekend’s Cumberland Plateau Stage Race and made a big bowl of oatmeal for dinner.

Friday Feeling!

I did an easy shakeout run to prep for the race.  This isn’t a goal race, so I didn’t taper.  I’m just using it as a long training run.

I packed up the car.  All of this is for one weekend of trail running, lol!

And of course I found a Starbucks for the drive.

Are you an over-packer?

Do you use races as training runs?

What are you most looking forward to this weekend?

I tend to be an over-packer. I hate not having what I want/need while away!
We have a pretty relaxing weekend planned but I am good with that. Date night tonight!
    Have fun at your race!

I can’t wait to hear about the race 😉 Hope you have cool cabin mates :)

Ooh! Good luck with your race! I know you’ll kill it though!

I am the worst kind of over-packer. For the one-night hotel stay for WDW Marathon (which is just a 45 minute drive from my house), I packed about 8 bags, my electric kettle, and a toaster.

Knowing how much I like to over-pack, I’m pretty nervous about travelling for my November Tulsa marathon.

I over pack!! Esp having a kid and running stuff I always look like I’m heading away for about 4 weeks. LOL
    Have a wonderful race :)

Looks like fun! Can’t wait to read the race report!

Enjoy the race! I am the worst packer and always bring double what I actually need.

I am not an overpacker at all. I tend to underpack most of the time, but I always assume I can get whatever I miss (if anything) at my destination. If I am driving I will take more than when I fly though.

Such an over-packer. We always cram our tiny hatchback with way more than we need on roadtrips. When will I learn…?
My races are almost always done with the aim of having a PR, because I only do about a half dozen a year, and I’m still experimenting with new distances (automatic PR!).
