First, Pasadena keeps their tracks on lockdown! I logged some mileage just running around the perimeter fencing before finally finding an open track.

Here’s the workout:

Warmup
1 x 800m (400m recovery)  Goal: 3:10 Actual: 3:10
1 x 600m (400m recovery) Goal: 2:13 Actual: 2:14
1 x 400m (400m recovery) Goal: 1:29 Actual: 1:29
2 x 200m (200m recovery) Goal: 0:44 Actual: 0:43, 0:44
Cool Down

Takeaways:  After last week’s faster time trial, my goal paces are faster.  This workout was rough!!  Also, solo track is significantly harder…I missed my friends!

Shopping and Boba…I’m so LA…ha! (Also, I’m wearing a fedora, because I still hadn’t showered.  In my defense, I did go for a swim.)

    i don’t typically get to run with my girls during the week since i am at work by 7am so speed drills for me are on my treadmill :( yes i typically run faster when i am with friends because they are faster and it pushes me. i am a white wine girl, have never had red or champagne.

    My speed work this week was a hill workout! It was super tough and my legs are definitely feeling it today. For wine, I’d go champagne, and white/red are tied! Depends what I’m eating or what I’m in the mood for :) I would always choose the bubbly (and rose) over all!!

    Fantastic post! You may be the first person ever to actually look GOOD in a fedora. Super cute! Sidebar – that ravioli looks delicious.
    I do almost all my running solo, which makes racing so fun because of all the other people!
    I love the idea of Champagne, but I usually stick with a sweet white, and will drink red if someone else has picked it out (useless at wine knowledge).

    This week we did 4×100 strides then alternating 800×3 and 1600×2. My friend and I had to do the workout on Monday instead of with the Tuesday group and it’s a lot harder without the group, even with one buddy! Kudos for doing a track workout solo. Love your Cali pics :)

    I’m doing speed work tomorrow! Either 400m repeats or attempting a tempo run for the first time. I’ve never run with friends or a group before but I think I may test it out. My wine rating would probably be the same as yours!

    Yay! So glad you had such a fun time, Jen! I had a 3 mile tempo run to do this week; I cheated and got it done on the treadmill because I was so over the heat and humidity. I have trouble sticking to my goal pace when I run with friends; I do much better on my own, if I’m really trying to hit a certain pace goal. Um, worst to best: red wine, white wine, champagne!
